Handcut Design
All papercut designs are filled with countless types of flowers that are combined to create a unique cut out piece.
This design is a little bohemian and wild, and consists of various types of wild flowers, such as thistles, poppies, Queen Anne’s lace, cornflower, pansies and wild cosmos.
One of the other designs is filled with romantic flowers, such as roses, peonies, chrysanthemums and carnations. All very soft and feminine and perfect for a gift for your mom as well!
For the final design I used different tropical flowers, like gloriosa, heliconia, hibiscus, orchids and various tropical leaves. I have created the designs in such a way that they can be hung on their own, or combined with one or more of the other designs to create a larger piece.
All designs are hand-drawn and then cut out piece by piece, by hand from a single large sheet of paper.
Lasercut Process
After the very labor-intensive and precise cutting, all the original papercuts were converted in the computer to a file, with which the lasercut machine can make exact copies of the original piece. Lasercutting and particularly lasering paper, is a technique that requires a lot of technical know-how. That’s why I outsource this part to professionals. A physical characteristic of a lasercut is that you might see a golden glow on some parts on the back of the papercut, this is due to the process of burning the papercut out of the paper. The front of all pieces are usually burnfree.
